Managing Windows: Snap & Resize

Snap two windows side by side, move and resize a window, and minimise or maximise.

You have a window open in the middle

When you open an app, it appears in a box called a 'window'. You can move these boxes, make them bigger or smaller, and place two side by side. This helps you work faster.

The three buttons on every window

  • Minimise (โ€“) โ€” hides the window without closing it. It waits on the Taskbar.
  • Maximise (โ–ก) โ€” makes the window fill the whole screen.
  • Close (X) โ€” closes the window fully. Save your work first!

Close (X) is different from Minimise (โ€“). Close ends the app; minimise only hides it. Do not click X if you still need your work โ€” save first.
